Hybrid Movement is an action stunt team based in Vancouver, Canada. We are a group of performers with a unique set of skills that is catered to the film/tv industry as well as live stage shows. Our specialties include:

Martial Arts Tricking (acrobatic/performance martial arts)
Free Running
Le Parkour
Action/Fight Choreography (stage and film)
Stunts for film/tv
Gymnastics – power tumbling and trampoline
Bboying and Hip Hop dance choreography
Circus Arts (staff/fire spinning, poi, contact juggling, fire breathing, etc)

Hybrid Movement’s Story

It all began with a conversation back in 2005 between a group of friends that met on the internet. They all practiced a sport called Martial Arts Tricking and had become friends through the online community called Tricks Tutorials. They discussed the possibility of forming a team and making a living performing all the different disciplines they practiced (whether it was martial arts or gymnastics or dance). At the time, they had a couple videos on Youtube that they had made for fun, and by luck some event planners from a local college saw the videos and called them to do their first show.

As time went by, the team roster expanded and more videos/media were made. Everyone continued training their skills and started learning new ones such as Parkour, Freerunning, Fight Choreography, and Circus. A few members of the team attended film schools after graduating high school and applied what they learned to the videos being released online. More time passed, and more opportunities came forward. The team started performing not just on stage, but also in film/tv. In 2010, Vancouver held the Winter Olympics and Hybrid put on many shows at festivals/events during this time.
